Blue Sky Telehealth Quality Program
Excellence in Plan and Action
Blue Sky Telehealth maintains a comprehensive quality program, which is constantly evolving in depth and breadth, that we use to evaluate and report performance and outcomes. The program represents collaboration from multiple service lines and is guided by our physician leadership.
INTERNAL PROVIDER QUALITY
We use national guidelines, regulatory requirements, and satisfaction data to create the key performance indicators by which we measure our providers’ individual performance. Providers receive quantified feedback at regular intervals throughout the year.
CLIENT AND PROVIDER SATISFACTION EXPERIENCE
We proactively seek performance and satisfaction feedback from both our providers and our clients. We use this information to improve the experience and service we provide.
SITE AND NETWORK QUALITY
We examine clinical metrics related to door to needle time and treatment recommendation rates across our client sites and networks. By monitoring trends in the data, we can offer solutions for improvement. We also track and trend areas of opportunity as part of our quality improvement partnership with our sites.
SHARED REPORTING
We share volumes, key performance indicators, and opportunities in various reporting venues both internally and externally. Reports are generated at regular intervals and at client request.
BEST PRACTICE PROTOCOLS
Using national guidelines and our providers’ extensive clinical experience and exposure, we are developing and constantly improving standardized but adaptable protocols to improve clinical care. We work with our clients on implementation of these practices as needed and requested.
OUTCOMES DATA
Blue Sky Telemedicine believes that patient outcomes are the true measure of the quality of our program and services. We partner with local sites to obtain outcome data for stroke such as safety measures (hemorrhage rate and mortality), mimic treatment rates, and discharge disposition. Future state is to extend the outcomes data collection to all sites and networks.
ENGAGEMENT
Our stroke medical director and stroke coordinator respond to clinical
issues as they arise from both internal and external sources. Both our
stroke medical director and stroke coordinator are available to participate
in case reviews and quality committees as requested. Our stroke coordinator also
provides educational webinars throughout the year on clinical and quality
improvement topics.
