EMS PRE-ALERT
5 Mins PTA- Advance notification of an incoming stroke patient.
DIRECT BEAM-IN & STROKE LAUNCHPAD
0-10 Mins- Our neurologists log into the camera to assess the patient and receive EMS report.
- Neurologist, ED physician and stroke team first assess the patient and key decisions are made.
ALTEPLASE PRE-MIXING
5-15 Mins- Stringent screening process identifies patients most likely to be suffering an ischemic stroke.
- Alteplase can be mixed and ready to administer as soon as CT results are known.
MOBILE MIXING
5-15 Mins- Bedside nurse or pharmacist prepares alteplase directly at the bedside from stroke box containing all necessary items for mixing and administration of alteplase.
TREAT IN CT
15-30 Mins- Bring camera to CT control room.
- Alteplase bolus and drip are started as soon as non-contrast head CT is read as negative.
- Advanced imaging, if needed, is then continued.
